IBERVILLE PARISH — An accidental discharge of a gun inside a bar has landed a convicted felon behind bars.
On Wednesday night, Oct. 29th, Iberville Parish Sheriff’s deputies responded to a bar for a shooting. Deputies learned the gun that he was illegally carrying due to his convicted felon status, “discharged inside the bar.” A female customer at the bar was hit by that bullet.
She was transported to a hospital and has non-life threatening injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.
As for the convicted felon, deputies have identified him as John Green II, 52. He was arrested at the Iberville Parish bar for the discharge. He’s now charged with aggravated second-degree battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm on the premises of an alcoholic beverage outlet, resisting an officer, and multiple probation violations.
