PLAQUEMINE, La. —- The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a body found in a neighborhood Friday morning.
Iberville Sheriff Brett Stassi said their office received a call around 8:55am on Friday, April 7th, reporting a man’s body found in someone’s yard on Kember Dr.
The neighborhood is described as a quiet subdivision off of Tenant Road that does not see much crime, according to Sheriff Stassi.
In their investigating, deputies said a neighbor did report hearing gunshots around midnight.
The man was found with a gunshot wound to the chest. His death is being investigated as a homicide.
The man is 24-yrs-old with Sheriff Stassi saying he does have ties to the parish and once lived in the parish. His name has not been released at this time pending notification to family.
