GROSSE TETE — A crash in Iberville Parish on Tuesday afternoon has left a mother and her child dead.
It was around 2:30 p.m. when Iberville Sheriff’s deputies responded to Sidney Road for a single-vehicle crash. The investigation so far reveals a mother picked up her child from school around 9 a.m. that morning because they were not feeling well. That child was in the vehicle with his mother when for unknown reasons, she ran into a tree near a bayou.
Both the mother and child were transported to a hospital, but neither survived their injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.
Their names have not been released at this time.
