IBERVILLE —- Louisiana State Police is investigating a deadly accident, where a vehicle partially ended up in the water after hitting a utility pole.
It was around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 22 when officials responded to Hwy. 77 near Bayou Plaquemine. That’s near La 1 on the way to Grosse Tete in Iberville Parish near the Indian Village Bridge.
Sky Valenciano, 31, of Patterson, was not buckled per State Police, was ejected and died. A second person, who was buckled, was rushed to a hospital in serious condition.
State Police say Valenciano was driving a 2006 Chevy south on Hwy. 77,, when for unknown reasons, they went off the roadway to the left and hit a pole.
Impairment is not suspected.
