Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office investigating late night murder

The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help in solving the parish’s second homicide of 2021.

Sheriff Brett Stassi said around 10pm Wednesday, Nov. 17th, deputies responded to the corner of Barrow and Dennis Streets in reference to a shooting.

That’s when deputies found Shelby Williams, 37 of Iberville Parish, laying on the ground with a single gunshot wound to the upper abdomen. Williams was transported to Ochsner and airlifted to Our Lady of the Lake, where he later died.

“Our detectives are actively investigating this fatal shooting, the 2^nd homicide in Iberville Parish this year. If anyone has information relative to this matter, you are urged to contact Major Ronnie Hebert at 225-687-3553,” said Sheriff Stassi.
