IBERVILLE PARISH — Louisiana State Police troopers are investigating a deadly crash that happened on Belle View on Friday morning. A 34-year-old Plaquemine woman died in the crash.
The crash happened just before 8 a.m. on Belle View Dr. (Hwy. 75) near Milly Plantation Rd. Randi Daigle, 34, was driving a 2013 Nissan Altima south Hwy. 75. At the same time, a 2000 Ford F-250 was coming the opposite direction. For unknown reasons, Daigle lost control of her car and went into the northbound lanes, hitting the Ford.
Daigle died on the scene from her injuries and troopers say she was not buckled at the time. The driver of the other vehicle, who was an off-duty Addis Police officer, was also unbuckled and rushed to a hospital. He had moderate injuries.
Impairment on both drivers is unknown at this time, per State Police. Toxicology samples were taken from both drivers, which is standard procedure.
