Slidell ice cream truck owner arrested after allegedly selling meth out of truck

SLIDELL — An ice cream truck owner was arrested by Slidell Police after narcotics detectives say he was selling methamphetamine out of the truck.

Detectives say they conducted a traffic stop after seeing the truck had an expired license plate and no working brake lights.

“Upon searching the truck, detectives located melted ice cream in the freezer, methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia,” police said.

Tamisha Morin, 42, was arrested for possession of narcotics, an outstanding warrant and multiple traffic violations.

Police say they received information prior to the traffic stop that “the owner was allegedly using and selling meth from the truck,” police said.

“At this point of the investigation, (we) don’t believe any children were exposed to meth, as the ice cream truck has been out of commission for several month.”

Detectives say they also found two small puppies inside the ice cream truck. Both are now at Slidell Animal Control, police said.
