WEST FELICIANA — The Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections confirmed to UWK that an inmate at Angola has died and that the death is “under investigation.”
The deceased inmate has been identified as Anthony Wayne Craig, who lived in Baton Rouge prior to his incarceration. Craig was serving time in Angola.
Officials responded to the state penitentiary for an unresponsive inmate around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28th. Craig did not survive.
The exact cause and manner of death for the Angola inmate will be determined from an autopsy that is pending.
