LIVINGSTON PARISH — Five people were recently arrested after an investigation into online predators throughout August.
The Livingston Parish Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, along with multiple other agencies, investigated five people on social media and gaming platforms. Detectives are able to use investigative tools and forensics to keep adults from preying on children online.
During these investigations, deputies got arrest warrants for these suspects and all five were arrested.
The following are those suspects and their charges:
Devin Lee Newton, 34, of Denham Springs
- One count Indecent Behavior with Juveniles
- One count Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor
Christopher Hilbun, 35, of Denham Springs
- One count Indecent Behavior with Juveniles
- One count Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor
Zachary Langley, 25, of Bossier
- One count Indecent Behavior with Juveniles
- One count Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor
- One count (Attempted) Production of Pornography Involving a Juvenile
Charlie Smith Jr, 53, of Gibsland
- One count Indecent Behavior with Juveniles
- Two counts Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor
Joshua Daniel Simmons, 35, of Bush
- One count Indecent Behavior with Juveniles
- One count Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor
Some of these investigations are still ongoing due to pending further forensic investigations.
