Judge sets $2,000 bond for 18-wheeler driver who triggered I-10 closure

The 18-wheeler driver accused of triggering Sunday's I-10 closure and injuring two people has bonded out on a $2,000 bond.

John David Guerin III was arrested Sunday, Jan. 16th accused of triggering the wreck on I-10 in Iberville Parish that shut down the interstate and left two people injured. 

In that wreck, officials said Guerin allegedly went in the wrong lane and ran over some cones. The DOTD vehicle ended up hitting the Iberville Sheriff’s unit and the vehicle on the wreck flew over the wrecker. At least two people were seriously injured.

Guerin’s bond was set at $2,000 and he has bonded out as of today. 

He was charged with negligent injuring, careless operation and failure to obey signs. 

His bond per charge was $1,000 for negligent injuring and $500 each for careless operation and failure to obey signs.
