The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office’s Armed Robbery & Burglary Detectives had been investigating several armed robberies where the suspects were operating in the same way.
In all of the robberies, EBRSO said multiple suspects were armed with pistols and AR-15 style rifles targeting Hispanic victims outside of their homes and allegedly robbing them at gun point.
“The suspects then enter the victim’s residence and also rob any victims located inside of their residence at gun point before fleeing the scene. In all instances, the suspects ask for money and car keys,” said EBRSO officials.
Detectives were out working on Nov. 4th doing some surveillance when they found the alleged suspects’ vehicle.
The vehicle entered the Reserve at White Oak Apartment Complex at 16441 South Harrell’s Ferry Road.
There had been previous robberies in this apartment complex exactly matching the earlier described way of operation, per EBRSO.
“The vehicle made two passes around the entire apartment complex slowly before briefly stopping inside of the complex. Detectives entered the complex and observed where the front passenger was holding a rifle and it appeared the suspects were possibly about to commit a robbery,” said EBRSO.
That’s when officials tried to make a traffic stop on the vehicle. Instead, the vehicle fled and went into a nearby neighborhood. All six suspects fled on foot with the rifles and pistols.
After a high-speed chase, help from K-9 units and air patrol, deputies caught all six suspects.
Three firearms (one long gun, two pistols) were also recovered in the area where the suspects fled on foot. The suspect vehicle was officially stored pending execution of a search warrant.
The six arrested include: Devante Fisher, 30, Jamorieon Mckeel, 18, Ashton Green, 22, two 17-yr-old men and one 16-yr-old male.
