Original Story

Multiple sources told Unfiltered with Kiran that Richard was driving a boat that ran into the tube another boat’s driver was pulling with three children on that tube. Of those three children, one now has a broken pelvis from the accident.

Witnesses on the scene said Richard allegedly jumped in the water, asked a jet ski driver to get him back to his boat, drove his boat back before getting in his vehicle to head back towards Lafayette. In fact, Unfiltered with Kiran is told within two hours of the accident, Richard was already back at his home.

The child with a broken pelvis had to be air lifted to a hospital, but sources said Richard did not stay while authorities were getting to the scene.

Richard is charged with hit and run, negligent injuring and careless operation.

“No comment as this matter is under investigation,” said 15th JDC District Attorney Don Landry.

When asked if Richard was still employed with the DA’s office, Landry said, “I’m not going to comment with a pending investigation.”
