The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office reported deputies are investigating an incident that took place at the Ascension Catholic High School in Donaldsonville.
“The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating an incident that happened at Ascension Catholic high involving a group of juveniles. At this time details are limited, but we are working closely with the school to ensure a thorough investigation is performed.”
Unfiltered with Kiran learned last week through numerous sources that the alleged incident took place after a Friday night football game at Ascension Catholic, possibly Oct. 22nd. Numerous sources said five students from the school, possibly all football players, allegedly took another student and stripped him down completely. Sources said the students then took inappropriate pictures of the student while nude and circulated those around the school.
Unfiltered with Kiran reached out to the school’s principal last week and was told they could not comment and to reach out to the Diocese.
When Unfiltered with Kiran reached out to the Diocese of Baton Rouge, they responded with a statement:
Hi Kiran,
Regarding your inquiry into an incident at Ascension Catholic High School, we are not at liberty to discuss disciplinary matters involving students.
When pushed that we’re not asking about the disciplinary matter, but instead what actually happened because parents do have a right to know, the response was the same.
Kiran,
We don’t discuss disciplinary matters involving students.
Thanks for understanding.
Unfiltered with Kiran has learned that the five students allegedly involved have been transferred out of the school into other area high schools.
This remains a developing story and will update as more becomes available.
