LDWF investigating fatal boating incident in St. Tammany

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents are investigating a single vessel fatality in St. Tammany Parish

David Anderson’s body was recovered from Doubloon Bayou near Slidell around 11:45 p.m. on Aug. 9.

Officials said Anderson, 28, went kayaking in the bayou around 5:30 p.m. At 10 p.m., agents said Anderson’s father found the kayak flipped over.

It’s unknown what caused the accident.

Anderson’s body was sent to the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office to determine an official cause of death. 

There was not a personal flotation device on him when his body was recovered.
