LDWF investigating fatal boating incident

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is investigating a deadly boating accident in Plaquemines Parish on Oct. 8.

Officials say the body of 49-year-old Jose Granados was recovered near Empire around 9:30 p.m.

Agents were notified of the accident at around 8:45. Officials say an 18-foot vessel hit a rock jetty with three people on board. All three were ejected from the boat onto the rock jetty.

The other two occupants were air lifted to University Hospital in New Orleans for severe injuries.
