Livingston man killed in single-vehicle crash Monday

LIVINGSTON — State police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a 73-year-old Livingston resident Monday morning.

Officials say the single-vehicle crash on LA 444 east of LA 63 in Livingston Parish claimed the life of Gary Demars.

State police say Demars was driving a Mercury Grand Marquis headed eastbound on LA 444, and for reasons still being investigated, the car veered off the road and hit a ditch.

Demars was wearing a seatbelt but died at the scene. Authorities took a toxicology sample from Demars for analysis as part of the investigation.
