LIVINGSTON PARISH — State Police troopers are investigating a deadly crash involving a truck and pedestrian that happened Monday evening.
It was after 7 p.m. on May 25 when troopers responded to a crash involving a pedestrian on Hwy. 42 near Range Line Road in Livingston Parish.
Christa Prestridge, 20, died in the crash, troopers said.
The investigation so far shows a 2017 Dodge Ram was headed east on Hwy. 42 just west of Hwy. 63. For reasons still under investigation, Prestridge walked into the roadway in front of her home, which is when the truck’s driver hit her.
Prestridge died at the scene. The driver of the Dodge was properly buckled and was not injured in the crash.
Troopers say impairment is not suspected but per standard procedure, routine toxicology samples were taken and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
