Livingston Parish homeowner shoots armed intruder

The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating an unauthorized entry/shooting that happened around 6am on Feb. 28.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office reports an investigation is underway after a homeowner shot someone entering their home.

It happened around 6am on Feb. 28 in the 12,000 block of Hammack Rd.

“An armed suspect made what appears to be an unauthorized entry. Homeowner, also armed, shot the intruder. The two appear to be acquaintances. Suspect suffered wounds & was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The homeowner was not injured,” said Sheriff Jason Ard.

This is an ongoing investigation.
