The four Livingston Parish Detention Center inmates allowed Ard to share their decision with the public. He said after discussions with their religious advisor, they wanted to further their faith and be baptized.

The Livingston Parish Detention Center Chaplain, Brother Mark Carroll, helped perform the baptism and let the men take the “next step of turning from the old life of sin to a new life in Jesus Christ.”

Warden Ballard was the witness for the baptisms and he said, “This baptism is a passage from the old life to the new, being forgiven & positively moving forward in life.”
