LIVINGSTON — Property tax notices are coming to a mailbox near you, and very soon. The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office recently posted on social media to remind residents about the upcoming tax, which is due by the end of the year.
While notices are being sent through the mail, LPSO said residents can view and pay their tax online through the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office mobile app or by visiting lpso.org.
To view your information on the app, click on the “Tax Information” button on the app’s homepage. Then, scroll down to the “Search & Pay Property Taxes” tab and agree to the terms.
You can search by taxpayer’s name or the physical address.
To view online at lpso.org, click the “Taxes/Sales/Fines” tab at the top of the page and then scroll to the “‘Search & Pay Property Taxes” tab.
Online payments will be charged a processing fee due to the third party vendor; this fee does not go to the sheriff’s office, according to the online post.

Taxes can also be paid via check by mail or in person at the sheriff’s office at the Livingston Parish Courthouse or by using the mail slot at the courthouse outside of business hours. There is no fee if you pay using either of these options.
If you find any issues or concerns with the tax being incorrect, contact the Livingston Parish Tax Assessor’s office at (225) 686-7278 or in person.
According to law, taxes become delinquent if they are not paid by Dec. 31, 2024, and interest will be charged at a rate of 1 percent every month beginning Jan. 1, 2025, until paid.
