DENHAM SPRINGS —- A Livingston Parish Sheriff’s deputy was arrested just after midnight on Sept. 23 in connection to a domestic disturbance.
UWK learned that LPSO Deputy Kelvin Higginbotham, 55, fired off one round of his personal gun inside a home in Denham Springs. UWK is also told that the deputy fired the shot after a domestic argument.
No further details have been released into the matter by LPSO and LPSO does not release arrest warrants that would provide more information surrounding the arrest.
Higginbotham is charged with domestic abuse & illegal use of a weapon.
The deputy was terminated from the LPSO effective immediately, per Sheriff Jason Ard.
Higginbotham had been with the LPSO Marine Division since 5/23 on a part-time basis. He also served as a reserve deputy for LPSO. He remains in the Livingston Parish Detention Center.
