LIVONIA — Students at Livonia High School are being dismissed early following a stabbing incident on Tuesday morning.
The stabbing occurred in the gym area around 8 a.m. on Jan. 14. Officials told UWK that one student stabbed another in the right shoulder/arm area and inflicted an additional wound on the student’s back. The incident took place while students were waiting in line to go through the metal detector.
The Pointe Coupee Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a school resource officer immediately took the student with the knife into custody, and the weapon was confiscated.
Meanwhile, the injured student was taken to a hospital, but their current condition is unknown.
As a precaution, the Pointe Coupee School System is dismissing students early from Livonia High School.
