The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a man accused of vandalizing a Denham Springs elementary school.

Livingston Sheriff Jason Ard said deputies arrested Abram Jones, 26, and charged him with simple criminal damage to property and other charges.

According to authorities, between 1 and 4 a.m. on Dec. 19, a suspect drove up to the locked gates at Southfork Elementary in a Dodge Charger. The suspect cut the lock and drove onto the school property.

Officials say the suspect drove the Charger into the grassy area where the vehicle got stuck. Jones allegedly walked to one nearby bus causing damage. He entered another bus, started it and allegedly drove into a light pole before leaving the scene.
