Silver Alert canceled, missing 75-year-old Livingston Parish woman located

UPDATE: Gayle Welsh, 75, has been located and is physically safe. She was found just south of the town of Livingston. Livingston Sheriff’s Office would like to thank not only all the law enforcement but also, all the people who helped share Welsh’s missing story.

(ORIGINAL) INDEPENDENCE, La — Livingston Parish deputies say Gayle Welch, 75, was last seen Wednesday morning (Feb. 15), at her home on Albin Rd.

Welsh is described as a white female with brown hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 5’6″ tall and weighs about 130 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants.

She was last seen at her home in Independence, which is in Livingston Parish, around 6am by her husband. Although the home is in Independence, the address is within Livingston Parish.

Officials believe she is driving a 2006 champagne/tan colored Hyundai Tuscan
Louisiana Plate: 124ATA.

Officials added she may have a small dog with her. No foul play is suspected at this time.

“Detectives have been working with her family members, who are concerned for safety,” said LPSO. “Family members reported her missing this evening & say she has not taken her medication. It’s believed she could be confused & be lost driving in the area.”
