LPSO investigating attempted murder-suicide in Walker

WALKER, La. — A man and woman are recovering after a domestic violence turned into an attempted murder-suicide.

It was around 9 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, 2024, when LPSO deputies were called to Glascock Ln. in Walker for a suicidal man with a gun. That’s off of Glen Ellis Rd. in Walker.

Upon arrival, deputies found a man who appeared to have shot himself. They also found an injured woman and a juvenile.

The woman was transported to an area hospital and is now listed in stable condition.

The man refused to cooperate with deputies and barricaded himself inside the home.

“The male then fired a single self-inflicted shot,” said LPSO Sheriff Jason Ard. He was transported to a hospital and is listed in critical condition. He is facing charges after he is released from the hospital, per LPSO.

The juvenile is now with family.

LPSO continues its investigation.
