LIVINGSTON — Livingston Parish Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene of what appears to be a murder-suicide in a parking lot of an apartment complex in Denham Springs.
The deceased have been identified as Deshaun Ennis, 45, of Amite and Anthony Self, Jr., 26, of Denham Springs. Sources say the two are father and stepson.
It happened around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28th at The Crossing Apartments on Buddy Ellis Rd. This is off Juban Rd. near I-12.
Acadian Ambulance was on the scene with a number of sheriff’s deputies.
“While we are still in the early stages of this case, we can tell you that, according to witnesses, we believe we are working a domestic-related murder/suicide at this hour,” Sheriff Jason Ard said. “LPSO deputies remain on the scene. Our investigation is going.”
What led up to the deadly incident remains under investigations as officials remain on scene piecing it together.

First Homicide of 2023
LPSO investigated their first deadly shooting of the year on February 21.
Justin Carrier, 36, was shot at killed at a home on Plantation Trace Dr. near French Settlement.
“Upon arrival, deputies located a deceased male with a fatal gunshot wound. One female was detained for questioning. At this point, it appears to be a domestic incident,” said LPSO Sheriff Jason Ard.
