LPSO investigating first homicide of 2023

LIVINGSTON, La. — Livingston Parish deputies are busy investigating a deadly shooting that happened on Mardi Gras day in Livingston.

It happened just after midnight on February 21, 2023 on Plantation Trace Dr. in the town of Livingston.

The deceased has been identified as Justin Carrier, 36, of Livingston.

“Upon arrival, deputies located a deceased male with a fatal gunshot wound. One female was detained for questioning. At this point, it appears to be a domestic incident,” said LPSO Sheriff Jason Ard.

This fatal shooting is the first homicide of 2023 in Livingston Parish.

This investigation is ongoing.
