LSP makes arrest in deadly hit-and run

Louisiana State Police made an arrest in the Aug. 5th deadly hit and run crash in Livingston Parish.

Kyle Manno, 23, was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide, vehicular negligent injuring, unsafe vehicle, and open container after allegedly leaving the scene of a fatal crash.

On August 5, 2022, Kyle Rowland, 26, and his girlfriend were riding on his Honda Shadow motorcycle on Hwy. 1019 East in Watson before Manno, who was driving a Ford F-150 traveling west, allegedly crossed the center line and hit Rowland’s motorcycle head-on. The impact of the crash ejected Rowland and his girlfriend from the motorcycle.

LSP officials say Manno left the scene after the crash. Troopers found Manno’s truck hidden in foliage on Hwy. 1019.

Rowland and his girlfriend suffered serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

According to one of Rowland’s family members, he was placed on life support before he died a few days later on Aug. 9. Rowland was an organ donor and helped saved lives even after he died.

On August 11, 2022, Manno was booked into the Livingston Parish Jail for the active warrant.

The crash remains under investigation.
