Welcome home the National Championship winning LSU Lady Tigers Monday

BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge is getting ready for another Purple and Gold celebration.

After an historic win against Iowa, the LSU Women’s Basketball are returning home national champions, and you can join in on the celebration.

A Champions Welcome

The Tigers will depart Dallas on Monday at approximately 10 a.m. aboard a charter flight to Baton Rouge, where there will be a welcome home gathering at the Maravich Center at approximately noon.

Details on a national championship celebration to be held on the LSU campus will be published soon, according to the University.

‘That is what I came here to do’

Head coach Kim Mulkey is bringing home a national championship less than two years since she was named head coach of LSU’s women’s basketball.

And the Lady Tigers did it in record fashion.

LSU scored the most points ever in a NCAA championship game, scored the most points in a quarter and points in a half and they did it all in front of a record crowd of 19,482.

City of Champions

With the 2023 Women’s Basketball national championship on April 2, 2023, LSU has won a total of 50 team National Championships, including 45 NCAA-sponsored national titles.
