Man arrested, accused of shooting at officers

Baton Rouge Police arrested William Garner, 57 of BR, for three counts of attempted first-degree murder among other charges.

Officers responded to a home in the 5900 block of Cadillac St. where Garner was allegedly beating on the door while armed with a gun.

That’s when officials say Garner fired his gun at officers and as a result, officers returned fire.

No one was injured during the shooting. Garner was arrested at his own home today.

Garner was booked in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on three counts of attempted first degree murder, possession of firearm or carrying concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies and illegal use of weapons.
