Man arrested after deadly shooting with over a dozen rounds fired

BATON ROUGE —- Baton Rouge Police have made an arrest after an early morning murder Monday, Nov. 13.

Larry Pearl, 27, was arrested and charged with the murder of Joseph Wilson, 23.

BRPD officers were alerted thanks to the shot spotter, a technology that alerts officers anytime gunshots are heard. At least a dozen rounds were fired off on Geronimo St. near Alliquipa St. around 5:45 a.m. That’s between I-110 and Plank Rd. near a Brec Park, the Kerr Warren Park.

When officers arrived, they found Wilson unresponsive. He was transported to an area hospital but did not survive his injuries.

A motive has not been released at this time into the shooting.

Pearl is charged with second degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.
