A Donaldsonville man was arrested and charged with multiple felonies after an attempted traffic stop Saturday morning.
Officials say Chad Falcon, 56, committed a traffic violation and allegedly engaged an Assumption Parish Sheriff’s deputy in a vehicle pursuit after the deputy tried to stop Falcon’s vehicle.
Police say the pursuit began on LA 70 toward Belle River. Falcon crossed the Belle River Bridge and then turned north onto LA 997 toward Bayou Pigeon.
According to officials, Falcon began throwing items from his vehicle during the chase. Iberville deputies were able to successfully spike the tires of Falcon’s vehicle ending the pursuit.
Officials say deputies took Falcon into custody following a physical confrontation. Falcon was transferred to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries and was booked into the Iberville Parish Jail as a fugitive from Assumption Parish. Falcon is being held without bond.
Falcon was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on Saturday evening on charges of:

- Possession of Crack Cocaine
- Aggravated Assault Upon a Peace Officer
- Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence
