Man arrested after woman dies from drug overdose during a sexual assault

HAMMOND — A 48-yr-old man has been arrested after a woman died from drugs laced with Fentanyl the man allegedly gave her and then sexually assaulted her.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrested Ernest “Fletcher” Felder, 48, of Hammond, in connection with the death of a 30-yr-old woman.

TPSO Deputy Chief Jimmy Travis said deputies were alerted on Sunday, June 11 to a missing persons report. Pauline Deese, 30, of Hammond had not been heard from since approximately 8:00pm the night before.

During the investigation, officials learned that Felder allegedly gave Deese illegal drugs laced with Fentanyl, which ultimately led to her death.

As a result of the investigation, Ernest Felder was arrested and charged with first degree murder and second degree rape. He’s also charged with two counts of possession of CDS II, one count of possession CDS 1, one count possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count resisting an officer.
