Man arrested, allegedly threatened person with shotgun at store

A Donaldsonville man was arrested after allegedly pointing a shotgun at someone and making threats in a retail store.

Deputies arrested Michael J. Muse, 64, and charged him with aggravated assault with a firearm following an incident where he allegedly brought the shotgun to a retail store near Belle Rose on Dec. 12.

Officials say the store’s manager told authorities he had previous issues with Muse at another retail establishment in Ascension Parish that he also manages.

Deputies corroborated the victim’s allegation through other resources.

Ascension Parish deputies arrested Muse on Dec. 21. Muse was transferred to the custody of the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office and booked into the detention center.

Muse remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
