Man arrested, charged with murder

The Tangipahoa Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged a man accused of murder and subsequent shooting of the victim’s 12-year-old daughter.

Deputies arrested Omarion Hookfin in connection with Donte Perry’s murder, which occurred Sept. 12 in Hammond.

Officials say the incident was a home invasion that resulted in Perry’s death. During the incident, Perry’s daughter was critically wounded with several gunshot wounds.

Hookfin was booked in the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on several charges which include:

  • First degree murder (1 count)
  • Attempted first degree murder (2 counts)
  • Armed robbery (1 count)
  • Aggravated kidnapping (2 counts)
