Man arrested for abandoned neighborhood dog

Early on Nov. 9th, Denham Springs Police officers found an abandoned dog near Adams Smoke Shop.

Officers found the dog after they were dispatched to the area by a caller describing a “loose dog.” The officers could not locate an owner so the dog was brought to the police department until a shelter opened.

Later in the day, they discovered it was an intentionally abandoned dog.

The officers watched a video which showed a suspect, Joshua Tudor, allegedly removing the dog’s collar and forcing it out of the vehicle.

Tudor claimed he was unhappy that the dog was coming over from a nearby residence so he decided to abandon the dog at the business’s parking lot.

He was arrested and issued a misdemeanor summons for cruelty to animals.
