BATON ROUGE — A man accused of calling 911 to lure police to his Vanderbilt Drive home and then shooting at them was arrested Tuesday.
None of the officers were injured.
Bricen Jordan, 24, was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder of a police officer.
Baton Rouge Police say Jordan called 911 around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday. When officers arrived at the house off South Sherwood Forest Boulevard, “the suspect ambushed the officers and fired three shots at them.” The officers took cover but were unable to return fire, according to Jordan’s arrest warrant.
The officers ordered everyone out of the house and arrested Jordan. When they searched the house, officers say they found three pistol shell casings in the living room and a Glock 9mm pistol in the kitchen, the warrant said.
Past arrest
Jordan was previously arrested in a 2019 fight at Istrouma High that left one student with a broken jaw. He was booked on second-degree battery and disturbing the peace in November 2020, after being transferred from Winn Parish Detention, court records show.
