BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge Police have arrested a 52-year-old man accused of robbing the Hancock Whitney Bank on Government St. on Dec. 26th.
According to BRPD, Frankie New allegedly walked into the bank and threatened a bank employee before demanding money.
New allegedly got away with close to $300. BRPD released that information shortly after the robbery, when they were asked for the public’s help in identifying the man.
BRPD obtained a warrant for New’s arrest after receiving numerous tips from Crime Stoppers.
New was arrested in Pointe Coupee Parish and was transported back to East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, where is being charged with first-degree robbery.
BRPD says New has an extensive arrest history.
