Man found shot, killed after an argument over a cell phone

BATON ROUGE — A cell phone appears to be the root cause of an argument that led up to a deadly shooting in Baton Rouge.

It was around 7 p.m. when Baton Rouge Police officers responded to the 4800 block of Evangeline St., off of N. Foster Dr., for a shooting.

Officers arrived to find a man shot numerous times and dead inside a home on the floor.

Sources tell UWK the argument was between the man and a family member over a broken cell phone. The two were arguing via text messaging when the man decided to go speak to the family member in person. That’s when sources say the shooting happened.

It’s unclear at this time if any arrests have been made or not. The name of the deceased has not been released at this time.
