Man interrupts vehicle burglary & ends up shot by burglars

BATON ROUGE — A man was shot while catching a vehicle burglary in progress in his own neighborhood.

It happened around 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17 on Washington Court. That’s off of McClelland Dr. between Hollywood and Evangeline streets in Baton Rouge.

Unfiltered with Kiran is told the man was returning home when he noticed a few people near a vehicle that was parked close to his home.

There was broken glass from one of the vehicle’s windows and a gun inside the vehicle that was stolen.

When the man honked his horn, the people ran off but fired off a few shots as they were running away. The man was hit by a few of the bullets in the legs. He was rushed to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

It’s unclear at this time if any arrests have been made. Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 344-STOP.
