BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge Police officers were called to respond to Interstate 12 overnight.
It was around 4:30am when someone called first responders saying he thought he just ran over something or someone on the interstate. The caller did not flee from the scene and waited on officers to arrive.
It happened on Interstate 12 west of the 10/12 split.
It’s unclear how the body got on the interstate but it appears the body was hit by multiple vehicles.
In order to respond properly and investigate the scene, officers did have to shut down the interstate for several hours.
The victim’s name has not been released at this time.
As of now, the person who called 911 is not accused of any criminal wrongdoing. The investigation is ongoing.
