Curtis Trusclair, 31, has just died after he was shot multiple times on Nov. 17 after going to the scene of a car crash.
One of the drivers involved in the crash called Trusclair to the scene, and after he arrived, the other driver involved in the crash, Darrel Jupiter, allegedly became upset and shot Trusclair multiple times. At the time, the Baton Rouge Police Department believed Trusclair would survive the incident, but after being transported to a local hospital he ultimately died from his injuries.
BRPD officers arrested Darrel Jupiter, 46, after a brief foot pursuit for his alleged involvement in the Nov. 17 shooting.
He was originally charged with attempted 1st degree murder along with other charges, but since Trusclair’s death, his charge will be upgraded to 2nd degree murder.
After the shooting, Jupiter was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Jupiter currently has the following charges:
- Aggravated Criminal
- Illegal Use of Weapon
- Possession of Firearm
- (Attempted) First Degree
