Man wanted for theft, considered armed and dangerous

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating an alleged violent offender accused of theft.

APSO Sheriff Bobby Webre says the sheriff’s office is searching for Christopher Landon Zachary, 26. Zachary is charged with resisting an officer, aggravated flight from an officer, aggravated obstruction of a highway, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, criminal trespass, and felony theft.

Officials say on March 29 at 1:50 a.m., APSO deputies responded to reports of an off-road vehicle theft at a Sorrento residence. Deputies located the truck matching the description of the suspect vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop. Deputies say Zachary didn’t comply. The vehicle was left after it hit a ditch.

According to authorities, four people exited the vehicle and left on foot. Sunny Lander, 21, of Denham Springs and Alayna Reach, 19 of Denham Springs were both caught immediately. Both were arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish jail. They were charged with criminal trespass, felony theft and resisting an officer.

Zachary and a fourth unidentified suspect are wanted. Authorities say Zachary is a known violent offender and is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on Zachary’s location or that could assist deputies with this investigation is urged to call the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office anonymously at 225-621-4636 or by texting 847411 to our anonymous tip line from any cellular device or Crime Stoppers at 225-344-STOP (7867).
