BATON ROUGE — The Baton Rouge Police’s Violent Crime Apprehension Team and U.S. Marshals Task Force arrested Travis Thompson after a standoff with police.
Travis Thompson, 38, is wanted on numerous charges and had been on law enforcement’s radar for some time. He was arrested after a ‘lengthy standoff’ between officers and Thompson in the 3700 block of East Brookstown Dr.
BRPD says, “Thompson has an extensive criminal history and had recently been involved in a domestic dispute.”
In that case, Thompson was wanted for home invasion, aggravated second-degree battery, domestic abuse aggravated assault and domestic abuse battery with a dangerous weapon.
Police say Travis Thompson also had a warrant out for his arrest for a previous incident from July 11, 2024 in the 8700 block of Elm Grove Garden Dr. Thompson was wanted for second-degree kidnapping with a firearm and aggravated assault with a firearm in that case.
