AMITE — Deputies in Tangipahoa Parish are investigating a double homicide in Amite where a man and woman were found dead.
The call came around 5 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23 from the 600 block of West MLK St. That’s off of S. 3rd St. and just outside the city of Amite. That’s why the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating since it is outside of city limits.

At this time, no further details have been provided into the double homicide in Amite. It remains an active scene that deputies are investigating. For now, deputies have not released information on whether there are any suspects or motives.
