PITTSBURGH — The man arrested, accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old from Baker, Louisiana has been denied bond.
Ki’Shawn Crumity, 26, of Pittsburgh, was arrested last week on several charges: sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault, two counts of corruption of minors, selling or furnishing liquor or malt or brewed beverage, unlawful contact with a minor and trafficking in individuals.
He went before a judge, where his bond was denied, meaning he is to remain behind bars.
Three others have since been arrested in connection to the case, but further details on the case have not been released due to the juvenile status of the victim. The young girl is safe and alive after multiple federal and state agencies traced her digital history to Crumity’s home in Pittsburgh.
UWK is told the investigation is ongoing through multiple agencies.

BAKER — Authorities have confirmed that the missing 13-year-old girl from Baker has been found alive. The U.S. Marshals Service of Western Pennsylvania located the girl on Thursday, Oct. 30th.
According to the U.S. Marshals Service, multiple local agencies in Pennsylvania were able to locate the girl in a basement of a residence in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The girl’s mother spoke with UWK Friday morning: “We serve a big God. My baby is alive. That’s really all I can say right now. My baby is alive. We’ll work everything else from there.”
She said that God heard the prayers of not just her family but everyone praying for her daughter.
“We can stand in confidence that the same God that has done it before can do it again. He’s heard our prayers.”
On Friday, Oct. 24, the Louisiana State Police (LSP) Special Victims Unit contacted the U.S. Marshals Service Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force’ (MLFTF) District Sex Offender Coordinator (DSOC) requesting collaborative assistance in locating the girl. The MLFTF DSOC received information from the State of Louisiana’s Attorney General’s Office Cyber Crime Unit, revealing that she may have had online contact with an unknown adult male.
Multiple state and federal agencies reportedly traced the girl’s online activity, which led authorities to Pennsylvania and the man she had been in contact with on Snapchat. Sources tell UWK that it appears the girl was coerced by strangers online to leave her parents’ home.
Sources confirm to UWK that the missing girl went to the Greyhound Bus Station in Baton Rouge and found a man there (the man in the camo hat), whom she requested help from. That man is then said to have taken the girl to St. Vincent de Paul for a meal and then to Wal-Mart for her to get some clothes and possibly other items such as a prepaid cell phone. He then dropped her back off to the Greyhound Bus Station.
According to the Marshals Service, the girl traveled via Greyhound Bus from Columbus, Georgia, to Pittsburgh. From there, it appears a woman met her at the bus station and took her to a home in Pittsburgh, per sources. There, she was allegedly was kept in a basement for nearly a week.
According to court records, 26-year-old Ki’Shawn Crumity of Pittsburgh is facing multiple charges for his role in the case.
As for the man who helped her in Baton Rouge, he was detained in New Orleans on Monday, but UWK has learned he did not have anything to do with the scheme. He only helped her get a meal and clothing and led officials to the Greyhound Bus Station angle of the investigation. It’s unclear if he is facing any charges at this time.
Further investigation by the U.S. Marshals and LSP revealed that the girl was with another person, later identified as Ronald Smith, 62, who was located and arrested in Columbus, Georgia, for Simple Kidnapping and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile.
This is an ongoing investigation with local authorities looking into an additional juvenile and adult male. Further arrests are pending and additional charges are coming.
