BATON ROUGE — A family is searching for their loved one and brother after he was last seen in late November. The Baton Rouge Police Department’s Missing Persons Division has now confirmed that Jarvis Morton, 46, is missing and asking for the public’s help in finding him.
Morton was last seen on Nov. 22 in the 1900 block of Mission Drive, according to officials.
Lillian Maggitt is the baby sister in the family and said her big brother is a loving, kind man and the favorite uncle in the family among his nieces and nephews.
She said she is heartbroken over Morton missing. The last time she spoke with him was around Nov. 13 when he called her on the phone, she told UWK.
“He’s the big brother every little sister wanted, and I’ve just been blessed to have him as my big brother.”
Maggitt said she is the one who reported her brother missing to police. She said her family still got together to celebrate Thanksgiving, but no one has heard from him, which is unlike Morton.
“He loves dancing and he loves to eat. He may be a slim guy, but he loves to eat,” she said. “It’s just not like him not to show up, especially for Thanksgiving. That’s one of his favorite holidays.”
Maggitt said her brother is a giving man who would do things for anyone.
“He’s always been the type to stand up for the little person regardless if he knew you or not,” she said.
Morton is described as a black male, who is about 6’1” to 6’2″ tall, and weighs around 175 pounds. He has a low haircut and a thin beard. Maggitt said he has several noticeable tattoos, including a small cross on his forehead and an ex-wife’s name on his neck.
Morton also has a slight limp when he walks, she added.
