MISSISSIPPI —- A woman from Denham Springs was killed in Mississippi in a deadly crash involving multiple people.

Amanda Holden, 43, of Denham Springs, died in the crash.

It was just after 3 p.m. on Interstate 10 eastbound between Gulfport & Diamondhead, on May 26 when there was a crash involving four motorcycles and a vehicle.

It happened in Harrison County in Mississippi. Officials confirm to UWK that Holden died at the scene. In total, six people were transported to area hospitals, four of them to local hospitals in MS while two others were flown to New Orleans.

Officials say a passenger fell off a motorcycle and Holden tried to avoid hitting them. That’s when she wrecked.

The wreck came after a crash on I-10 westbound in Baton Rouge around 8 a.m. involving 10 motorcycles going down after a wood pallet was left on the interstate.

State Police Troopers have stressed to drivers to please use extra caution on the roadways for the Memorial Day weekend.
