More than 50 rounds were shot in a drive-by shooting Wednesday evening that left three people shot, one of them dead.
It happened around 6:30pm outside the Harmony Center on N. 13th St.
Collis Temple is the director/president of the Harmony Center and was on the scene alongside BRPD Chief Murphy Paul. The Harmony Center is part of the residential intellectual and developmental disability, mental health, and substance abuse facility.
Sources say one person died and two others suffered non-life threatening injuries, a 48-yr-old woman and a 76-yr-old. We’re told those two were standing outside the Harmony Center when someone drove by and opened fire. Of the two, one is a resident at the Harmony Center and one is a worker.
Several officers had the scene blocked off. Officers had numerous shell casings marked on 13th St. and were continuing to put out evidence markers as they found even more.
Not only was Chief Paul on scene, but Mayor Sharon Weston Broome’s public information officer Mark Armstrong was also out there.
Sources say the shooter remains on the run.
