HAMOND — The man suspected of fatally stabbing a mother of four last weekend has been arrested in Natchitoches, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Christopher Jerome Wilson, 25, faces charges of first-degree murder and armed robbery with a knife.

Sheriff Daniel Edwards stated that Carol Allen, 31, was found with multiple stab wounds in the backseat of a vehicle at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 27.

Investigators believe Wilson and Allen had arranged to meet for a date in Hammond. Allegedly, Wilson attacked Allen and attempted to steal her car during their encounter. In the ensuing struggle, Wilson purportedly stabbed Allen multiple times before fleeing on foot from the scene.

The incident took place on W. Pleasant Ridge Rd. in Hammond, located between I-12 and Old Covington Hwy, near S. Airport Rd.

According to Sheriff Edwards, Wilson contacted Natchitoches police for assistance with a flat tire on his bicycle. However, it didn’t take long for the authorities to realize he was wanted in Tangipahoa Parish case, leading to his arrest.

Wilson has since been transported back to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail. In addition to the charges related to Allen’s murder, he also faces one count of domestic abuse battery from a separate investigation.
